Application/Service/Description
If you checked out your computer in the past few months, you may have noticed some changes to your computer software. With the transition to Microsoft Intune comes a new way to install software on your work computer. It’s called the Company Portal. This new system will allow users to more easily install approved software on their computers. Using the Company Portal requires a stable Internet connection.
Version
Company Portal for Microsoft Windows; Self Service for MacOS
Instructions
Comapny Portal(Windows)
- In Windows 11, you can click the Windows Icon on the bottom of your screen and type in “Company Portal” in the Search Bar.
- From here, you can search for and install approved software on your college-issued device. Let’s say you want to install Firefox. Just type in “Mozilla Firefox” in the search bar in the portal, press the “Enter” key, and Mozilla Firefox will pop up for you to install.
- In addition to installing software, you can also go to the left side of the portal and select “Downloads and updates” to make sure your programs are up to date.
- The new system will allow end users to easily install the commonly used and approved software they need.
Self-Service(MacOS)
- Click on Applications on the left
- Locate and open Self Service
- You are now in the Self Service Portal
Please remember that you still need to put in a Software Acquisition Request using services.daytonastate.edu if your software is not available. The process of acquiring software has not changed.
