Common Troubleshooting for Computers

This article has basic troubleshooting steps for computers/laptops either not turning on, or not functioning properly

Instructions

Laptop/Desktop Won't power on:

  1. Make sure the laptop is plugged into a power source and try turning it on again.
  2. If it still will not turn on, try holding down the power button for a full minute.
  3. If it still will not power on , please fill out a Computer/Printer/Device Troubleshoot Request

Misc Issues such as Audio/Visual not working, MS Apps not working, Slowness, etc.:

  1. Restart your PC. Restarting your PC is different from powering it off and back on, and can resolve a myriad of issues 
  2. If issues are not resolved, check for updates.  
    1. Go to your settings, then "Windows Update", then "Check for updates" 
    2. If updates are found, please run them and allow the computer to restart if needed 
  3. If this still does not resolve the issues, please fill out a Computer/Printer/Device Troubleshoot Request
